Operation Medusa 20th Anniversary Event Recap

Twenty years after Operation Medusa, the NATO Association of Canada brought together veterans, serving members of the Canadian Armed Forces, defence and business leaders at Ottawa’s Rideau Club to commemorate the anniversary and reflect on its lasting significance.
Moderated by CTV News journalist Marcia MacMillan, the panel featured LGen Michael Wright, MGen (Ret’d) David Fraser and LGen (Ret’d) Michel Gauthier, who shared firsthand reflections on leadership, coalition warfare, sacrifice and the lessons of Canada’s experience in Afghanistan.
The evening offered an opportunity to honour those who served while examining how the experiences of Medusa continue to shape Canada’s approach to defence and national resilience.
