Syed Hasnain Abbas is a Junior Research Fellow at the NATO Association of Canada. He holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Economics and Political Science from the University of Toronto. His research focuses on the intersection of trade policy, economic security, and defence industrial strategy. Prior to joining NAOC, Hasnain served as a Constituency Assistant in the House of Commons and completed a finance internship at British American Tobacco's risk and compliance function. He also volunteers as a data analyst at Chakor Analytics, where his work on Pakistan's economic and social policy issues has been recognized by senior academics and former government officials.
