Aly Muhammad Sayani

‘Aly is a 4th year undergraduate student at the University of Toronto, pursuing a specialist in International Affairs and a Minor in Sustainability. He was born in Karachi, Pakistan, but grew up in London, UK, before being awarded the Lester B Pearson Scholarship to pursue his studies in Toronto. He has a strong background in research, having produced a paper on the link between political orientation and environmentalism in Canada as a Laidlaw Foundation Scholar, and used his research experience in work with the Global Leadership Foundation. As engagement coordinator, Aly hopes to use experience gained through working with the Ismaili community, having presided as co-chairman of the Ismaili Students Association, as well as project experience with the MakeSense Foundation on environmental initiatives in Mexico City.
